PEAC AWARDS NIGHT FOR FILIPINO CANADIAN EDUCATORS

PEAC AWARDS NIGHT FOR FILIPINO CANADIAN EDUCATORS thumbnail

On July 18 2009 at the Greenwood Inn, Calgary ,Alberta a group of teachers who belong to the organization PEAC- Pilipino Educators and Advocate Council held there first recognition award for Filipno Canadian Educators.

On that night Evelyn Sobremonte of Bishop McNally Highschool and Gwen Raymundo of Blessed Cateri elementary school were awarded with the PEAC recognition award for being an excellent Filipino educator here in Canada. Gwen Raymundo have been at Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Elementary School for the past 4 years.
She will be going to St. Monica Elementary Junior High School this coming school year.  This is her 7th year in adminstration and 12th year with the Catholic School District.

Also on that night PEAC inducted the Officers for the Year 2009-2010. President: Emerito Tubang. Vice-president: Espie Cruz. Secretary: Santa Posadas. Treasurer: Precy Atienza. PRO: Sheryl Guinsatao.

The executive board also introduced as follows:  Executive director: Dr. Doris Collantes and the Board of Trustees namely Tessie Santos, Luz Pineda, Rita Gayatin, Edmond Ray Papas, Joselito Velasco, Michael Bocana, Patricia Nethercott.

The festivities was also honored for the presence of  Hon. MLA Wayne Cao and Hon Teresa W. Pao MLA who was also presented by the PEAC  with the award “ Patroness in Education”.
