Beauty pageants are generally multi-tiered and popular, with local competitions feeding into larger competitions. Visminsa Charities Foundation in Calgary succeeds with the same notion and process.
The typical perception of a beauty pageant is that it occurs to search for the women of a perfect frame in a live stage, and that talent is involved somehow.
Beauty queens or title holders are chosen on many criteria. Each individual pageant will provide the prospective delegates its particular methods of competition and scoring. For example, the Miss Philippines-Calgary Canada has a unique scoring system wherein candidates have the potential of earning a score of 100%. The breakdown is based on beauty, talent, academic excellence, achievements and intelligence. In the process of judging, the contestants were interviewed and had demonstrated their best with their sport’s wear and swimsuits. Plus factor comes from each candidate’s portfolio as presented on their profiles. Photogenic likewise enhances.
Take note that size no longer is a limiting factor as many competitions espouse the goal of “natural beauty”.
Critics of beauty contests argue that such contests reinforce the idea that women should be valued primarily for their personal appearance. This puts tremendous pressure more on “parents” for their daughters “to be beautiful” hence, they spend time and money on fashion, cosmetics, hair styling and promotion through ads solicitations. This pursuit even encourages the party to diet at the point of harming the contestant.
When winners are declared, components that are not part of the competition surface from the losers, that contestant were not based purely on physical appearance but “influences”. Rather than providing the winners with opportunities to compete to a higher level, it is a common observation that supporters of a candidate that did not make to the title hurt the launching organization.
With the title garnered by two of our Miss Philippines-Calgary Canada beauties this year, the argument is over. These two beauties excel in many fields, proving to the world that they deserve to win a beauty contest.
Visminsa Charities Foundation movement is not at all a matter of personal choice, so pageantry held by it, remains to have a place in worldwide beauty crowns, since no one is forced to participate.
Details of the beauty pageant in Dominican Republic follow as recorded by Rex Elumir, Visminsa Charities Foundation Director.
