Two of Country Music’s young sensations to shine at the 2010 Calgary Stampede

Calgary– The Calgary Stampede is pleased to announce that two of country music’s hottest young performers will join forces on stage at the Calgary Stampede next July. The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth, July 9-18, welcomes Jason Aldean and Miranda Lambert as they appear together at the Pengrowth Saddledome on July 17.

“Miranda and Jason are two country music sensations who, individually are having a huge impact on today’s country music scene,” says Jim Laurendeau, senior manager, Calgary Stampede programming. “Having the two of them in one show brings an amazing amount of talent to the stage and our musical lineup for the 2010 Stampede.”

Both Lambert and Aldean played a significant role in the recently held Country Music Association awards in Nashville. Lambert was a nominee in the Female Vocalist of the Year category while Aldean had the opportunity to perform his No. 1 hit “Big Green Tractor”, the only consecutive 4 week No. 1 hit of 2009.

Though known for his unapologetic, southern-rock style, Aldean’s musical influences also reflect the more traditional end of the country music spectrum. Meanwhile, Lambert’s releases in 2005 and 2007 both debuted at No. 1 on the Country Music charts.

The Jason Aldean – Miranda Lambert concert on July 17 is presented by the Calgary Stampede and Stampede Concerts Inc. Tickets for the concert go on sale on Thursday, December 10 at 10 a.m. and range from $49 to $59 (plus applicable ticket fees). Tickets would make a terrific Christmas gift and are available online at www.ticketmaster.ca or by calling Ticketmaster at 403-777-0000.
