Hello my dear readers, once again spring is fast approaching and the memories of those long -40c days are long gone(let’s hope so) time sure does fly fast doesn’t it? Also this is the time when Easter is upon us and as good Catholics we observe our church’s traditions regarding this event. No eating of meat for me on Good Friday, fasting and church on Easter Sunday. I hope you all have a good Easter.

It’s beautiful to see that our days are getting longer and longer by the day, more sunlight and it’s still light out when you’re on your way home unlike in the winter when it’s dark when you get to work and it still is dark after you get off work and heading home. Temperatures are rising now as well and soon we’ll see flowers blooming again and green grass.

I heard on the news that all the PCOS machines for the first fully automated elections in the Philippines have all arrived, that is good news and let’s all pray for our fellow countrymen back home of a safe and honest elections. Hopefully with the automated election and the new biometric processes recorded for very registered voters we will eliminate the “dagdag bawas” and the “flying voters” syndrome that has been plaguing our country in every election as far as I can remember.

Also the automated system of elections will give the full result as early as 48 hours after the voting process which eliminates the weeks and months of counting the votes manually and allow people to do “dagdag bawas” in my opinion the longer it takes to count the votes the more chances of cheating can take place. I hope this new automated elections will be a success, they are naysayers as always but in the end we will never know if a system will work for our country if we don’t try it….let’s try it first and see where it takes us and our country…….there’s a reason why majority of the countries nowadays have automated elections and that is because even though it’s not 100% fool proof it sure is more effective than manual counting of votes that can take weeks and sometimes even months to fully tabulate.

Also I know that by this time this article of mine comes out, we would’ve already known the result of Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao’s next fight on March 13th, 2010 against the tough Ghanaian boxer and former IBF welterweight champion of the world Joshua Clottey (35-3-20KO) at the Dallas cowboys stadium in Texas. Let’s hope Pacman won again and brought boxing glory to the Philippines once more and show the world that our boxers are world class and deserving of international attention and media. Pacman won the WBO welterweight championship of the world  last November 14th, 2009 via 12th round TKO of Puerto Rican boxer Miguel Cotto making him the first boxer in the history of the sport to win seven world titles in seven different weight divisions a feat that has never been achieved before.

In closing I wish you kababayans a Happy Easter and a Happy Spring!!!
