It was 22 years ago when I arrived in Canada and chose Calgary, Alberta to be my home.  Leaving my family and friends behind, it was a new adventure for me to be in a new country without knowing anyone.  That was the time I looked for a Filipino community paper and never found any, [...]

Arnel Pineda with Rachelle Ann Go review

By: Roberto Ugaddan

It was a great Friday night last July 23rd 2010 when Arnel Pineda took the stage at exactly 8PM and performed great rock music for everyone at

the Jubilee Auditorium. Arnel and his band the “Atomic” band thrilled the audience by performing an eclectic mix of rock covers that featured Bon

Jovi, Queen, Bryan Adams songs as well as singing a few Filipino classic rock songs as well. Arnel was full of energy and he really worked up

the crowd and his voice never faltered even after reaching the highest notes in his set.

Rachelle Ann Go quickly took the stage after about 45 minutes of Arnel singing and entertained the people as well by her impressive impersonation

of other performers. Comedy mixed with music is a nice tonic as well. Her voice was smooth and soothing but at the same time she had a powerful

vocal projection.

After that, Arnel came back to thrill the audience more by singing more rock covers, due to his contract with the band Journey he is not allowed

to sing any of their songs unless he is with them on tour so this explains why he never sang any journey songs at all in this concert. At

anyrate, Arnel didn’t fail to deliver and entertained the crowd to the max even posing for pictures with the fans while he was singing on stage.

A great night of music indeed and we can’t wait for Arnel to come back again here in Calgary, till next time. Mabuhay!!

If i would to rate the entire concert i’ll give it an “8″. Kudos to the band members who played the music so well and hat’s off especially to

Arnel Pineda for giving a very energetic and well blended repertoire of rock n roll music. Rachel Ann Go’s songs was so endearing and her

impersonation of the different Divas was very entertaining. We we’re up on our feet from start to finish. I’m truly proud of our very own

Pilipino talents who can be very well be at par with international artist.
I only find the concert kinda short so that’s why it didn’t get a “10″ for me. But i’m willing to watch it again and again and again……

ARNEL PINEDA LIVE IN EDMONTON
by Maria Barnachea

If you love classic rock and a good time, I really hope you didn’t miss Arnel Pineda’s performance in Edmonton. The Jubilee was filled with the

best rock songs sang by the best rocker in the Philippines.
Pineda sang everything from Queen to Bon Jovi and the crowd happily sang along with him, filling in all the lyrics and joining in. Pineda not

only proved that he was a great singer but he also had the skills of an acrobat. He jumped and ran along the stage proving just how multi

talented he was. Wowed with his musical talents and good looks the ladies were not shy to run up closer to the stage and take pictures with the

handsome rocker.

Though she did not preform for a long time, Rachelle Ann Go proved to be just as charming and talented. Singing a medley of classic rock songs,

she proved rock is not just for the boys but girls can rock just as hard. With the Ammo Band setting the mood. It was hard not to have a good

time and dance along. After two hours of singing along and dancing in the crowds, one thing is for sure, Arnel Pineda loves to rock.

——————-

Arnel Pineda really rocked Calgary with his “Arnel Pineda Loves to Rock” concert. It’s so amazing to watch and hear this Filipino lead vocalist

of the popular band Journey belt out rock and roll songs with such energy and passion infront of all his kababayans. He really makes us truly

proud to be Pinoy.

-Ruth Padilla

My girlfriend Adaire Beatty said that Arnel Pineda is a very engaging performer with the crowd and that she had an awesome time especially when

she sang with him. It was so much fun!! She also says that Rachel has an amazing voice and that Rachel is so talented and Adaire wishes she can

sing like that.

I personally think that it was the best concert I have ever been too. His song selection was perfect and his energy level was through the roof.

He is definitely the best performer I have ever seen. The last time I saw Rachel (it was probably 4 years ago) she was a good singer. Now I think

that Rachel is a phenomenal singer! She has come a long way in such a short period of time. In the brief time that I had chance to talk with her

I thought that she was incredibly polite and friendly.

My girlfriend and I think what Arnel is doing for under privileged children is extremely honourable and we think that it takes a special kind of

individual to do what he does.

-Kelvin

I have to admit that Arnel Pineda of Journey is one of the best performers I’ve seen and one of the best concerts I’ve been to. He’s awesome! He

totally rocked our world last night! No wonder he was chosen to be the new vocalist of the band Journey in replacement of Steve Perry. It just

shows that Filipinos have the world… class talent.

-Jenny Bungay of Philippine Financial

“I’m so glad that I’m one of the sponsor of Arnel Penida’s concert in Edmonton and very fortunate to watched the show with my family. It was one

of the “BEST” concert I ever attended.Very entertaining-Arnel has full of energy on stage and not only with that but the whole audience enjoyed

dancing while he’s performing. His band and also his guest singer Rachelle Ann Go did a great performance.I’ll give 5 stars for the rating of the

show.”
