June 21 is the longest day of the year and SUMMER officially starts!  Enjoy the outdoors, smell the flowers, take a drive to the countryside, go camping, take a hike, these are some of the things you can do during the summer.  It doesn’t stay for so long so we better take advantage of the good weather we have around.  It is the time of the year when we can get lots of VITAMIN D which is really good for our health.

The Filipino community keeps on growing and a lot of our businesses owned by Fiipinos are making waves in the industry.  Our publication is extremely happy with the growth that we have achieve over time and PINOY TIMES will be celebrating it’s 3rd Year Anniversary on August 13, 2011 with a potluck picnic at Bowness Park.  Please wait for further announcement, it will be a FAMILY AND FRIENDS FUN DAY.  With the support of our advertisers, we have accomplished our mission to be of service to the community.  Please do not hesitate to join us on this special day.

We have kept our circulation on a monthly basis in order to give our readers a publication that will be filled mostly with more community events and stories; we try our best to make sure that our articles/news will be always informative to our readers.  We just don’t copy and past everything; our dedicated local Filipino-Calgarian writers are always willing to go a mile to add knowledge and make our readers satisfied and filled with helpful articles for their daily living.

We have to remember that if we do not do it for ourselves, nobody’s going to do it for us.  So do not put your future in the hands of others, it all starts with you as an individual. Furthermore, do not believe in hearsays because each of us has our own mind to make our own decisions. Let us not forget to always believe in ourselves and in all our endeavors. As the saying goes, ANG NANINIWALA SA SABI-SABI, WALANG BAIT SA SARILI!

MABUHAY ANG PINOY!
