Great is Thy faithfulness

We have just visited a Filipino contract worker, whose left hand is slowly recuperating from a serious burn caused by a work-related accident as it was pressed inside a commercial laundry’s electric plate. She’s telling me that the excruciating pain is different than problems like being financially broke or emotionally hurt because it cannot be shared physically to anyone. Sometimes, she wonders of God’s grace upon her life. I told her that what happened never escaped God’s attention, as Jesus said that “not a single sparrow (or bird) can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it.” As we prayed and talked about our gracious God in the Bible, we sung a great hymn which speaks of God’s great faithfulness (Dakilang Katapatan”), which is one of His awesome characteristics communicable to everyone who believe. Moreover, there’s a portion of a hymnal message below that ascribe faithfulness to Him as follows:

“Great is Thy faithfulness,” O God my Father,
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not
As Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be.

It is worth praising God whose faithfulness let the sun shines and the rain showers upon all of His creation, whose faithfulness continually sustains us with what we need in life to live, whose faithfulness continually forgives us when we humble and surrender our sins to the Lord, whose faithfulness upholds us when we fail from our mistakes or wrong choices, whose faithfulness keeps on teaching us His divine ways, and whose faithfulness keeps on loving us. In His faithfulness, God will be the same yesterday, today, and forever. Let us always remember that no matter what situation we are into, God’s love endures forever, and He remains faithful even when we are faithless. So, apostle Paul says, “in everything, give thanks for this is the will of God concerning you in Christ Jesus.” Our relational God is after the development of our holiness more than our comfort in life. And there is a promised heaven to those who keep their trust in Him –where will be no pain but everlasting joy! So cheer up, sister, for the Lord had faithfully spoken, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Indeed, God’s love and faithfulness will see you through!
