The 1st quarterof the year is over and yes, time flies so fast. It was just like yesterday when Ed Stelmach stepped down as Premier of Alberta when Alison Redford won the race last year and she became the 1st Woman Premier of Alberta in the political history. Now this coming April 23, 2012, we [...]

Pinoy Times was truly grateful to have been a media partner for this particular concert produced by CityHits Productions in cooperation with TFC, The Filipino Channel.
We began traversing the 3-hour ride and route northbound to Edmonton on the morning of that Sunday to welcome the visiting Princes of ABS-CBN’s famous Teleseryes of the Season. With the participation of actors Sam Milby, Enchong Dee, Gerald Anderson, and Rayver Cruz, partnered with the comedic act of comedienne “Pokwang”, the show will definitely be an ace carrier for a feel-good comedy night out.
The day started out with a luncheon meet and greet at Fat Jakk’s Restaurant, with visiting diners who gathered up to enjoy good Filipino meal and have a glimpse and picture taken with these stars.
On the night of the event itself, special guest Gene Flores, a good singer himself, was really amazing as he front acted the show. He rendered songs that are mostly common favorites by both the young and old.
Although “Pokwang” did not do a solid stand-up comedy act, her antics and the flow of jokes she threw was very much welcomed and appreciated by the laughing audience. Being careful at times, due to children being in the show, she nonetheless captured the audience to smile and crack up endlessly.
The singular show of each actor from Rayver’s synchronized dance moves, to Enchong’s charming cute smile, to Gerald’s boy-next-door image and finally to Sam’s acoustic songs, delivered pure entertainment to its viewers.
The concert in my opinion was a successful venture and although we did not have the chance to stay for later autograph signing (because we still have to drive back to Calgary), this show was a stopper and the cold night was no excuse to miss it. Congratulations to CityHits Productions and many thanks to Malou Filasol and her colleagues for the warm welcome given to Pinoy Times Staff.
