Alberta Premier Alison Redford welcomed

by the Filipino Campaign Team – March 31, 2012

Lake Bonavista Recreation Centre

An invitation was extended to this Publication to attend an event last Saturday, March 31, 2012.  Meet and Greet the Premier was organized by a team of Filipino leaders headed by it’s Chair Oscar “Jun” Buera, Vice-Chairs Ferdie Aguirre (External) and Mar Aquino (Internal), Exec. Secretary Vangie Caoile, PR Liason Elvie Valeroso, Committee Heads Alice Cabagan and Lourdes Pacheco and  Overall Coordinator Anita Ferrer.  Their Senior Advisor is Atty. Richard Tumanon.

Extended to the other Community Associations all over Calgary, the event took place at a time where Provincial Elections had been called.  As such, the Premier carried her political banner -  The Progressive Conservative Party or PC.  With her, were representatives and candidates for the upcoming elections in our Province.

Held at the Lake Bonavista Recreation Centre which houses the riding of Calgary Fish Creek candidate Wendelin Fraser, the team also welcomed other representative/candidates of Calgary East: Moe Amery, Calgary Greenway: Manmeet Bhullar, Calgary Hays: Ric McIver, Calgary McCall: Mohammed Rasheed, Calgary South East: Rick Fraser, and Senate Candidate: Doug Black.

The event was well attended by many Filipino personalities from the four quadrants of the City.  That night, Filipino-Canadians expressed their concerns and apprehensions to the political and socio-economic status of the Province of Alberta.

The Provincial Election shall be held on April 23, 2012 and we sincerely hope eligible voters from the Filipino Community will exercise their rights.
