Pops Fernandez & Martin Nievera – TWOGETHER

Sunday night, May 6th was not just another night for JAVA Promotions Canada headed by Jun Buera, Anita Ferrer, Vangie Caoile, & Alicia Cabagan. The stint to bring the Philippine’s pride in the Concert Scene was not an easy task. It was a sure hit in the making when the concert was announced as early as February.  And as the poster started to circulate around the city, everyone is in “excitement mode”.

Pops Fernandez and Martin Nievera were singing sensations back home and a perfect tandem when it comes to musical duos.  Aside from the fact that they became a couple and had children, then separated over 10 years ago, the two also depicts true friendship.  How they started off as friends, is how they will end up, even though successful sacrament of marriage was not to their calling.

Jack Singer Concert Hall is no skinny rabbit when it comes to choosing Concert venues in Calgary. Thus, tickets were pricy for some. Although blessed with the opportunity get free perks such as tickets (due to being a volunteer PT writer), partnering with the media is just as well important for production companies like JAVA, to attain success in ventures such as this.

The concert overall, was a “hit” of course.  There is no need to jam pack an auditorium to consider it successful.  The screams and sea of heads that flourished through the doors of the hall are enough to say this is a sure winner in the hearts of many concert fanatics. Local talents are abundant in Calgary and JAVA Promotions chose the best that we have out there. Each and every one of them gave justice to their genre and their skills in the world of music, in my observation, is now comparable to these International Filipino Artists we invite over.

Congratulations to JAVA Promotions Canada.  We sure hope your next project will be another tasteful event. And thank you for continuing to bring the entertainment we all miss back home.
