Movie in Review

by: Tata “Tatsky” Gascon-Delos Reyes

The Healing

Actors: Vilma Santos, Robert Arevalo, Pokwang, Janice de Belen, Kim Chiu

Produced by:  Star Cinema

The latest movie offering which aired at Sunridge Spectrum Cinema last month was starred by no other than the Star For All Seasons Ms. Vilma Santos whose acting skills can never be questioned. 50 years of her acting career with mostly Triple A quality movies, what can go wrong with this one now? It was always expected of her to deliver a great performance and I did not think twice on that.

Reviewing on the totality of the movie itself? Hmmmm…. It was breathtaking with the roll of suspense and thriller flick factored in. Though the main gist of the story revolved in the chronological deaths of the actors involved in the process of the story line, the picture was too good to be true. It depicted our Country once again as one melting pot for many Doctor “Quack Quacks” that flourished in mostly Asian countries like ours.

I personally did not like the idea that the color of the movie revolved in white, then blue, red & yellow…. The scenes involved even the laymen and the entire community to wear such color in hue. It was so obvious after each play screen that even home curtains & street billboards are in sync.

Acting wise, the players played a good one. Ms. Vilma Santos carried her troop with flying V’s for Victorious. Can’t wait for the next drum roll for another “Pinoy” entertainment.
