The year just flew by, it ’s barely 45 days and we’re into 2019.  It is amazing that with the change of season, that’s how fast we can feel that the year is almost over.  We started getting snow here and there and yet we’re still in the fall season. Mid-October to early November was a [...]

Triskelions All Fired up and Aiming Higher

The Southern Alberta Regional Council of the Triskelions’ Grand Fraternity and Sorority also known as the Tau Gamma Phi is hosting their 45th Founding Anniversary on October 4 & 5, 2013 in Canmore, Alberta.

This Supreme Brotherhood as they call it, was established in 1968 at the University of the Philippines, the premiere institution of higher learning in the country.  Since its establishment, the organization and its counterpart sorority, Tau Gamma Sigma, have distinguished themselves in campus politics and social development work.  Chapters quickly spread in other major universities propagating its principles of excellence, volunteerism and brotherhood.  Today, the Tau Gamma Phi Fraternity is the largest fraternity in the Philippines with 800,000 members found in the entire country. Alumni organizations have been established in many countries.

In 2008, the alumni chapters from the major cities in Canada formed to establish the Canada National Council.  Today there are nine regional councils found in the provinces of Nova Scotia, Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia.

Since then, they have been continuously serving various communities through several volunteer works and outreach programs in and outside of Canada.

This year’s Anniversary theme “Triskelions All Fired up and Aiming Higher” is to commemorate and reflect a great year of service and achievement, an excellent way of celebrating and saying that more good work is still ahead and will be accomplished with one common goal that is to make life better for many people.
