It was 22 years ago when I arrived in Canada and chose Calgary, Alberta to be my home.  Leaving my family and friends behind, it was a new adventure for me to be in a new country without knowing anyone.  That was the time I looked for a Filipino community paper and never found any, [...]

Erwinism: Get Rich Quickly

by Erwin Maramat

Let’s face it; not all of us can be millionaires or billionaires. We have tons and tons of books that say we can, but on a realistic level, we can’t all sell real estate properties to one another, we can’t recruit each other, we can’t all be start ups with multimillion dollar ideas for websites or apps that willeventually land us a zip code next to an overnight billionaire in Silicon Valley.

We are all looking for that one opportunity to change it all, and for most of us the best we can do is not to fall behind payments, and get caught up in life. We instantly fall victims to get rich quick schemes because we just want to be out of the rat race, but life doesn’t really work that way, so in the end we succumb to failure because we have the notion that we fell short of achieving something, but in truth you are just working for someone to have you fulfill their dreams for them. We often dismiss the good old grunt work. However; someone has to still plant the seeds, someone has to still open the doors, and someone has to dream up of something beyond money. When you have a chance do thank these people.

There are no flat networks and there are pyramids but never inverted. People will beg to disagree, but they know that in their heart of hearts, there is nothing more inconvenient than the unsung truth. We can only hope to be financially literate. We can only do so much by living rich lives.

There’s nothing wrong with being rich what is wrong is that someone getting rich at the expense of disregarding lives and there are times that the existence of poverty can be blamed on someone getting rich off it.

They lead you into thinking you can be happy androids but you are humans and as such it’s human to be pessimistic when the right moments call for it, like when someone is selling you a get rich book. It is fine to get upset, or disappointed and more than anything it is but normal to get angry when you are deprived of opportunities and sometimes it is our very selves that do so.

If you have not seen the movie The Matrix, I highly recommend that you do so, not only does it capture the sad truth of our reality, but it satirically depicts the reality that many of us serve no other purpose but to power corporate machines and we are more than happy to be exploited so that in turn we may be rewarded with the illusion that we are free. The best gift you can buy is awareness, for awareness is mistaken to be paranoia, but in the long run you will begin to see the strings that pull the puppet and much later the puppeteer.

Gone were the days when people feel the lash of the whip, and so we think, now it’s just a matter of getting you in debt. The minute you stepped into this world you have readily signed a binding agreement that your life is on lease and the disclaimer on fine print states that you cannot grow awareness.

If you dare to succeed in whatever it is you are doing be you own worst critic. Be Alexander the great who was never satisfied being under the shadow of his father. Success is not without hard work. There is no such thing as getting rich quickly and if there were you’d surely find out that as quickly as it comes sure is as it goes. Be a customer service representative of yourself and sell all the best things you can offer; the road may be rough in the beginning but at the end of the day it all boils down to worthy things that people will find value in that matters. Everything nowadays is processed and so few are grown organically, so grow your talents the way it is meant to be, through countless hours of mastery and practice, and while it is true you can’t get rich quickly but if you master your craft you own your destiny.

We can have a perfect world when everyone has achieved perfect conscience.
