Dear readers, Since it’s the month of Holy week, I want to reflect on the 7 deadly sins that most Catholics and Christians take for granted. It is almost the opposite of the 7 Catholic virtues which are chastity, temperance, charity, diligence, patience, kindness and humility. Growing up and to these days, I always practice some of these virtues, [...]

Aegis Doble Dekada in Calgary!

Aegis Doble Dekada in Calgary! thumbnail

The last time I watched Aegis was 10 years ago 2008 and now they’re back and proved to be as strong as ever.  The Grey Eagle Event Centre was a full house that night and I can attest that it was a sold out concert. From VIP seats up to the bleachers there were no empty seat.

The iconic power belter group Aegis will brought their music to Calgary last October 20, 2018. They set ablaze “AEGIS: Doble Dekada, Ang Soundtrack ng Buhay Mo,” the 20th anniversary concert of the phenomenal 90’s band. The band has made powerful music in the past two decades and their hit songs such as “halik”, “luha” and “Sinta” among others are just staple favorites at Karaoke bars. These heart-wrenching, vocally challenging songs are was heard by their Filipino fans in Calgary.

It was an evening of great music and fun times with Aegis.  They did a variety of songs old and new and most of the audience even sang with them.  Everyone was having a good time the entire time and it was really an honour for Pinoy Times and Pinoy Timed on Air to be media sponsors for an excellent concert that was brought to us by G & G Productions together with Chopstix Restaurant.

Aegis is composed of vocalists Juliet Sonot, Mercy Sunot and Kris Sunot, keyboardist Stella Maries Pabico, drummer Vilma Goloviogo, bassist Rowena Adriano and guitarist Rey Abenoja.

We also would like to thank the producers for giving us the chance to have a meet and greet with AEGIS at the Max’s Restaurant and we were able to have a question and answer portion at that time.

A big thank you to the production team especially to Mr. Alan Isidoro for being the emcee that night and to Ms. Evelyn Lopez for overseeing the whole production and to Nenejules Casuncad for looking after the volunteers and the security.

Congratulations to G & G Productions (Forth and Imee Galves) and Chopstix Restaurant (Lydia Gatus) for bringing the best show ever for the year 2018.  We will be definitely wait for your next big production in 2019!
