Hello dear readers, It’s June and half of the year is almost gone. But we still have rain at times and it’s good for the grass and all the plants in our garden.  Although lately, it’s been getting to more sunny now, I’m sure that everyone is enjoying the outdoors. Faith is the Answer

By Consuelo (Chit) E. Munar

“Without faith , nothing is possible. With it, nothing is impossible.” – Mary Macleod Bethune

Christians observe Lent. Lent is mostly observed by the Lutheran, Methodist, Presbyterian , and Anglican denominations as well as Roman Catholics. This year, 2019, from Ash Wednesday (March 6) to Easter Sunday (April 21), Christians commemorate the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. To give true meaning of this event, Christians observe the three pillars of Lent, namely: praying, fasting and almsgiving. These practices simply mean: almsgiving is to love others, fasting is to love yourself and praying is to love God. Also, these practices help us to grow a deeper relationship with God and become ever closer with him in our earthly pilgrimage.

Our world faces a myriad of challenges – environmental issues, political crisis, social issues and economic crisis. These global issues range in severity from the minor ones that affect everyone to global catastrophic risks that threaten the existence of the human race.

Sometimes we don’t understand why things are the way they are. But when we come and worship, when we hear the word of God, it help us gain perspective. We are aware of man’s susceptibility to sin of selfishness, sin of hate, sin of envy, sin of jealousy, sin of greed, sin of revenge, sin of neglect, sin of denial, sin of ignorance, sin of lying and sin of unbelief that we seek God’s help for redemption.

If there is one word that is associated with religion and even with Christianity, it would be the word Faith. We are a people of faith. We believe that a strong faith will hold and make us through every storm in life. Fears, worries, difficulties, everyday problems beset us. What can give a man inner toughness to see his tough time through? “Faith is the greatest miracle-working Power imaginable,” Pastor Robert Schuller said. “Faith never fails a person. We fail when we give up on our faith. In the darkest times, simply remind yourself that faith can move any mountain.”

No matter how tough times get- whether it’s unemployment, poor health, loneliness, or anything that blocks success- one has the potential to achieve the best of life. Great faith works in peoples lives. There must be a steady and unfailing practice of positive prayer. God guides praying people through tough times until the beautiful breakthrough finally comes. Tough times never last. Through prayer God gives the power to hold on to tough times until the breakthrough comes.
