Publisher's Note
HAPPY NEW YEAR! HAPPY THREE KINGS! As we are now in 2019, new year, new beginnings, new challenges and new opportunities. Everyone is entitled to make their new year’s resolution for as long as they keep it in mind and make sure that they do it to the best of their ability. When I was young [...]

We are now approaching almost half of the year and for Pinoy Times this is our 22nd issue and so far we never missed a beat. We are not like other publications who will only come out 11 months in a year or will just all of a sudden stop the circulation or will just come up with another name to make it sound a new paper in town but old folks are running the show. We stand-out amongst the rest because of two most important philosophy - PUBLIC SERVICE and COMMITMENT. I should say that in the past two years, I have tested myself as a publisher and editor by making sure that our issues will be out on time even if I am out of the country for a short holiday. Having a laptop makes wonder that you can connect with others and work even if you are on the other side of the continent. I would like to thank again my ADVERTISERS, for without them, PINOY TIMES will not be out to serve our community. We always try to add value to your business as your marketing avenue to our community. THANK YOU FOR YOUR UTMOST SUPPORT AND TRUST TO THE MOST READ FILIPINO COMMUNITY PAPER OF CALGARY AND NEIGHBORING TOWNS LIKE RED DEER AND EDMONTON.
Now our home country, the Philippines, will be faced with a new chapter in its history while awaiting the proclamation of the new President to lead the nation for a better and brighter future. Whoever is the lucky presidential bet will have to prove that the peoples’ vote will count by his passion to lead and put into reality all the promises he made during his campaign. He will be there to stand for and by the people and to show his passion as a trusted servant to his people thru his actions and not his words. This past election also proved that sometimes popularity makes way for new public servants, just count how many of them are in the enterntainment industry. Nevertheless, some of them have proved how they can handle politics despite of their busy schedules.
I know that when you get the copy of our publication, it is time for me to greet everyone BELATED HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY TO ALL DEAR MOTHERS! But as the saying goes, it’s better late than never. So for those who missed Mother’s Day, it is never too late, we can still make our mother feel special every day in some other ways. One thing for sure, don’t’ be shy to tell your mother how much you love her. It is important to note, that you should never put any thing for tomorrow if you can do it today, for we never know what tomorrow will bring.
On a lighter note, we should not forget that once in a while, we get a chance to see some of our local artist back home who will be coming to Calgary for concerts, i.e., we got TRUE FAITH on May 28th and the TFC – OK GO KAPAMILYA FIESTA featuring the SESSIONISTA with one of the best singer in the business - AIZA SEGUERRA and company on June 6th. Fun is part of life, for without fun we will just be working ourselves to death. So try and come out and watch these shows to have a little bit of fun and enjoyment.
To my fellow PINOYS and PINAYS, we salute everyone for all your hardwork, perseverance and determination to have a better life ahead and to show the world that the FILIPINOS will always excel wherever they maybe and whatever they will do in any part of the world. MABUHAY ANG PINOY
