It’s another month ahead for us and now we can definitely smell spring in the air. Our weather is starting to feel more of the springtime and in the Philippines we always call the FLORES DE MAYO which means Flowers of May. If you have been out lately to Home Depot, you will notice that the garden center is now open. Lots of seeds to chose from to plant in your garden. There’s also lots of varieties of indoor plants to chose from. An array of garden sets are on display as well as accessories for your garden. Yes, definitely, there’s the sign that we are finally going to put all our winter stuff and bring out our spring/summer wears.

The recent Federal election has concluded and the people exercised their rights to vote and have chosen the CONSERVATIVE PARTY to be the majority in the house. With the new elected members of the House, we can watch out for what changes with take place in thei policies for the benefit of the Canadians. For those who did not make it for this Federal election, better luck next time. For now let us see how this new set of policy makers have to offer to every Canadian who have put their trust on the candidates they have voted for and have won the election.

Month of May is also very much celebrated with MOTHER’S DAY that we celebrated last May 8th. It is very significant for me and my 2 siblings here in Calgary because our mother flew back to Calgary after being aways for over 14 months in Manila. She was very happy to come back and join us again here in Calgary because she misses her grandkids and great grandkids as well. Welcome back Mama and Happy Mother’s day! My husband too me out for dinner at MONTANA’S COOKHOUSE together with my daughter, who’s also a mother of 2 and my brother’s family as well. It was indeed a very good Mother’s day celebration. We should not forget that this month, we have a statutory holiday on May 23rd where we celebrate Victoria Day.

Yes, definitely May is a month to start our outdoor fun times. Finally, it’s Springtime here in Alberta.
