KAMPING at KIWANIS 2011

On August 6-7, I had the pleasure of not only participating, but also leading the Squires and Squirettes of the Knights of Columbus Council #14736 in our first annual Summer Camp at Kamp Kiwanis. The Squires and Squirettes are the children of the Council members, between the ages of 10 – 18. The Squires and Squirettes unanimously named the camp “Kamp MackCoolEats” (makulits) a few months prior and ever since then the kids anticipated the day of the camp for a chance under the sun and bonding time with the fellow campers. It look a lot of organizing and meetings for my co-leaders, our Coucncilors, Tito Aarly Suing, Tita Ester Rubiano, and Tita Tata Delos Reyes and I to smoothly operate the weekend but it was definitely worth it in the end.

As you can see, the Knights of Columbus Council #14736 does not only focus on the Council members but also the rest of the family! I would like the give a special thanks to Kurt Rubiano and Kristal Rubiano for their excellent organizational skills, Tita Marie Mendoza and Tita Marie Borja for their help with the food and of course Tito Aarly and Tita Tata for being the best administrators ever.
