by CK This morning when I woke up, I noticed that some leaves in our tree in the backyard are starting to turn yellow and I told myself, what an early sign.  For sure we have our nice days numbered as Fall is soon approaching.  I love the color of Fall because it feels so refreshing [...]

It’s another month and another issue with all the fresh news and articles we can gather for our dear readers.

This past month it came into my mind that we FILIPINOS should really be proud of who we are.  I have release the very 1st glossy magazine in Alberta, PINOYLIVING TODAY.  Grab your copy now while supply lasts.  Our cover page this issue is none other than MS. LEA SALONGA, who we all know, has received her DISNEY LEGEND AWARD. We all know that she was the singing voice for Princess Jasmine in Aladdin and Fah Mulan in Mulan II.  Aside from that, she was also one of the judges in the just concluded Ms. Universe 2011 where she was the one who did the Q & A with Ms. Angola who won the title of Ms. Universe 2011.  Ms. Lea Salonga is indeed one of the popular international figure amongst the Filipino artists.  With her talent and passion to what she does, she has gone a long way.

Another name that is very popular nowadays in the Filipino households is SHAMCEY SUPSUP.  She got the title of 3rd runner up in the just concluded Ms. Universe 2011 which was held in Brazil.  It was not just her beauty but her intelligence that made the Philippines proud of her.  Not everyone knows that she also topped the Architecture Licensure Examination in July 2009 in the Philippines. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of the Philippines.  I find her very down to heart when I saw her interview with Boy Abunda in The Buzz.  She’s very honest when asked if she has a boyfriend and she got gave Boy Abunda a straight answer of YES.

Now, let’s go to our local scene, here in Calgary, Alberta.  We just got a new Premier and the very 1st Lady Premier by the name of Alison Redford.  While watching the live telecast on the evening of Oct 1st, I had mixed feelings while waiting for the results.  Unfortunately, I ended up turning the tv off at around 1 am since it was not over yet.  The next day, I found out the it was Redford who won the race.  And I told myself, I was right, I had the feeling that it will happen.  So now that she has been sworn in as the new Premier, let’s all hope and pray that the Albertans will have a prosperous life and that our economy will turn for the better.

I would also like to commend Mary Kate Aquino, who was a part of the program to sing O Canada before the the Swear In Ceremony started last Friday, October 7, 2011.  We all believe that Mary Kate will go places with her singing career in the future.  We should all watch out for her.  With that being said, I have to remind everyone that on October 30th, watch the TELESERYE PRINCES at the NAIT Auditorium in Edmonton and on November 13, 2011 don’t miss PAROKYA NI EDGAR at the Century Casino.

With all of this being said, I just have one thing to share with my readers, “People grow through experience if they meet life honestly and courageously. This is how character is built.” by  Eleanor Roosevelt

MABUHAY TAYONG MGA PINOY!
