Time flies so fast that now we can feel that summer has finally arrived.  For the past weeks we’ve been getting some sort of heatwave that we need to drink a lot of water in order not to dehydrate.  We should not complain about the heat because it doesn’t last that long.  I’d suggest to enjoy the outdoors and get lots of vitamin D.
We just recently celebrated 100 years of Stampede and 10 days of festivities is not long enough for the Calgarians.  Everyday, attendance in the grounds keep on growing and growing, not just from the locals but from tourists from all over the world. This year, we have to commend Possibilities in Motion for making the Filipinos stand-out in the Prelude for the Parade – a big thumbs up to AKRA, Universal Motion Dancers and Kapatiran Philippine Dance Group for their fantastic performance.  Now it can be told that the Filipinos are indeed full of spirit in order to showcase their talents.  To all those who supported this project, thank you very much for believing and helping to get this project into reality.  And to the people behind POSSIBILITIES IN MOTION, carry on and keep up the excellent job!
July 2012 marks the 4th year anniversary of PINOY TIMES.  It was like giving birth to my youngest child when I finally put this project into action.  I’m thankful to all those who believed in me back in 2008 and I made sure that I deliver my commitment to my community every 15th of the month.  Please join us on July 28, 2012 from 11 am to 5 pm at Shelter #1 Bowness Park to celebrate our 4th year anniversary.  Bring your family and friends and enjoy the company of good people, good food and lots of fun and entertainment.
This month will also be very busy in the concert scene as the popular band, AEGIS will have a back to back concert in Calgary and Edmonton.  Please don’t miss the chance to have an evening of great music from this band, they have been to Alberta a number of times already and still their fans have always waited for them to come back and bring an atmosphere of home everytime they have concerts overseas.  Check out the posters for this once of a lifetime concert to look for your ticket sellers; don’t wait too long as tickets are selling like hotcakes.  Another upcoming concert is BAMBOO which will be at the Rivercree Resort in Edmonton on August 3.  Check out poster for your ticket sellers and pick up your tickets now.
Last but not the least, after our Stampede festivites is now over, let’s look forward to another big festivity, GLOBALFEST and don’t miss the Philippine night where we will have Platinum Fireworks once again to show their expertise in pyrotehcniques and musicality.  Let’s support Globalfest, get your tickets now!
Until next issue, MABUHAY ANG PINOY!
