Lorena Alcantara together with her husband, Bayani and her mother, Nanay Letty and brother Lester Resurreccion, opened their doors at the grand opening of their restaurant called Panciteria de Manila on October 7, 2012. To cut the ribbon was none other than Ambassador to Canada, Leslie B Gatan and Honorary Consul General of Edmonton, Ms. Agbulos. English translation of Panciteria (pan-si-te-riya) is House of Noodles .

This is a family oriented restaurant which serves authentic Filipino home cooked dishes. Our main feature is the “Pancit Malabon”, a noodle with our homemade sauce topped with egg, shrimp and vegetables. This can be ordered over the counter or can be ordered as party platters in a “bilao” — a native tray made from woven bamboo.

They also offer popular all day breakfast of “Tapsilog” (marinated beef strips); Longsilog (Filipino sausage); and Tocilog (sweet marinated pork) which are served with garlic rice, topped with sunny side up egg with tomato and cucumber on the side. They also serve “Pancit” (pan-sit) (stir fry rice stick noodles) and Rice Toppings “Adobo” with choices of sliced chicken adobo, pork adobo, or beef adobo served with garlic rice, chopped tomatoes, and scrambled eggs.

You can also try the famous Filipino dessert “Halo-Halo” (shaved ice topped with homemade sweets, fruits, and milk). Soon they will be serving other authentic snack food like bibingka, puto( steamed rice cake), arroz caldo(congee) tokwa`t baboy (fried tofu and pork with special vinegar sauce) and many more.

Their delicious authentic Filipino dishes are affordable and the average price is from$5.99- $7.99. You can also order party trays from small–extra large prices from $25-&$70.

Panciteria de Manila is located at 9653 – 102 Avenue, Edmonton, AB T5H 0E6 and you can call them at (780) 425-5757 or fax your orders to (780) 425-5755
