Once again ABA – Edmonton volunteered in the Annual Alberta Highway Clean-up Campaign on May 4, 2013. Every year on the first or second Saturday in May, service clubs and other non-profit groups are invited to participate in the Highway Cleanup Program by Alberta Ministry of Transportation. For three consecutive years now, Batanguenos have been at the forefront of this activity helping the province clean up several kilometers of Alberta highways. During their first and second year, Batangueno volunteers clean up a 28-km stretch of highway 28 and 803. This year another 8 kms of highway 642 was added with a total of 36.5 kms cleaned by the Batangueno group! That is a great accomplishment for the group of dedicated individuals headed by the newly elected president George Aguilar. This would not be possible without the support of all the members that shared their time and effort to this worthwhile campaign. ABA Edmonton also acknowledges the support from their friends, the youth group and guests from Calgary, Vancouver and most especially the group of temporary foreign workers who always join them year after year of this undertaking. Kudos everyone for keeping Alberta highways clean!
