THE NEWLY-APPOINTED Philippine Honorary Consul General to SOUTHERN ALBERTA

Godofredo Ferdinand Ramos Aguirre (Ferdie) has more than 20 years of combined experience as a legal professional in the Philippines and in Canada.

He graduated from the Ateneo de Manila College of Law in 1987 and had successfully passed the Philippine Bar examinations given that year.

Before being appointed as our Honorary Consul General to Southern Alberta, Ferdie Aguirre was no stranger to holding high positions in his career. He has held the following offices before coming to Canada as an Asst. Senior Vice President and Employee Relations Head of the Philippine National Bank, Senior Manager and Head of the Labor and Anti-Fraud Section of the Law Division of the Metropolitan Bank & Trust Company and Chief Legal Counsel of Metrobank Card.

Ferdie Aguirre was also a professor of Political Science and Business Law before migrating to Ontario Canada in 2005 where he worked as a Paralegal.
His private practice included having successfully handled several major cases and being included in the Philippine case books.

Ferdie Aguirre is happily married to the former Grace Celestra and they have two teenage sons, Enrique Ferdinand and Gabriel Romualdo.
He is a member of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines, the Canadian Bar Association and the Association of Interpreters and Translators of Canada.

He is presently a Court Agent & a Commissioner of Oaths in Alberta.
