It’s been such a busy month of May for me as I was away for 3 weeks on my official holiday back in Manila. Life is such a roller coaster and you’ll never know what tomorrow brings and I’ve proven that. But no matter where life takes you, you have to face with positive attitude and a true fighting spirit to overcome whatever burden you encounter. In two words, it’s all about POSITIVE THINKING!
I would like to congratulate Honorary Consul General for Southern Alberta, Atty. Ferdie Aguirre. It’s about time that the Filipinos in Calgary and neighboring towns have someone to go to for consular services which they can only avail from the Vancouver office or if there is any outreach programs in Alberta. It makes it so hard for everyone who needs the service to fly to Vancouver considering the cost of flying and getting accommodation while you’re there. Let’s hope that everything will be smooth sailing for our new Honoray Consul General Aguirre as he start his official duties for the Filipino community of Southern Alberta.
The Philippine Independence Day is such a big celebration for the Filipino community and thus several events have happened and may still be happening while you’re reading this issue. So don’t be a stranger, come and celebrate with the Filipino community to commemorate our 115th Independence day celebration all over Alberta.
I would also like to invite all our readers to come and celebrate with us PINOY TIMES’ 5TH ANNIVERSARY PICNIC at Bowness Park Shelter 1 NW Calgary from 10 am to 5 pm, lots of good food, great entertainment and fun for the entire day! Come one, come all! This is a FREE event.
Until next issue, MABUHAY ANG PINOY TIMES!
