SUMMER is almost over and did we really get enough sunshine?  Our weather has been very unpredictable lately.  But still, we should really never complain because everything happens for a reason.  The flooding we experienced this year was a true test of how we are united in this province.  And despite of the flooding, the greatest show on earth was a success, as they say, HELL OR HIGH WATERS, CALGARY STAMPEDE IS THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH.
Looking back, the months of June and July were busy but as we end up our summer, August is going to be a busier month.  We were out in Edmonton for the Kamikazee, Wolfgang and Kitchie Nadal Canadian tour.  It was sad indeed that the fans of Kamikazee was not happy because their favorite band did not make it to Canada.  But even without the band, Kitchie Nadal and Wolfgang still made the night a success for fans all over Alberta.  Congratulations to Erick and Crystal of Kee Productions for bringing another unforgettable show to the Filipinos here in Alberta.
Moving forward, the Filipino community has lots to be entertained with especially the singing contests around Calgary and Edmonton.  Pinoy Singing Sensation will be holding it’s grand finals in Edmonton on August 31st  and Mary Kate will have a concert on August 31st in Calgary at the Polish Canadian Center.  These 2 greats events are indeed something we should not miss.  Please check posters for more details.
Let us enjoy the rest of the summer for as long as we can.  There are still lots of outdoor activities to do together with friends and family.  I was truly sad that I never had the time to push for the anniversary potluck picnic this summer as Bowness Park got flooded.  Nevertheless, we promise to have an eventful year end party in December 2013.
Lastly, I would like to apologize to Ms. Toni Brisette for using one of her pictures on Facebook to be used for our segment PINOY TO ANONG SAY MO on our July 15, 2013.  I asked Ms. Toni Brisette for her opinion on the flooding on FB and when she replied to it I assumed that it was ok to use her picture to be beside her name and opinion.  I admit that it was my mistake not asking permission to use her picture and I am deeply sorry for the oversight.
Until next issue, Mabuhay ang PINOY TIMES!
