SASKATCHEWAN EXPERIENCE CATEGORY

Saskatchewan is one of the Prairie Provinces in Canada. This province’s economy is one of the fastest growing provinces in the prairie in terms of job growth. Saskatchewan has full of opportunities for foreign nationals to come and work temporarily. By having work experienced in Saskatchewan, the temporary foreign worker may be eligible to apply as a permanent resident.

In case you have friends or relative that is currently working in Saskatchewan as a temporary foreign worker, you may want to inform them about the Saskatchewan Immigration Nominee Program (SINP). This program is an alternative and faster way of gaining entry to Canada by nominating applicants that qualify under criteria set up by the province for permanent resident.

Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) offers the ability to select qualified applicants who has skills and abilities fit into the criteria; The application processing times are faster than other Federal Immigration classes. There is no deadline to apply to the SINP.  However, program criteria may change without notice and your application will be assessed according to the criteria in place at the time the complete application was received.

Saskatchewan Immigration Nominee Program (SINP) are divided into three (3) categories, one of those is Saskatchewan Experience category.

What is Saskatchewan Experienced Category?

The Saskatchewan Experience category is for foreign nationals currently working and living in Saskatchewan. Under this category, it includes the following sub-categories:

a)      Existing Work Permit Sub-Category [1]

Under this sub-category, skilled workers who have been working in Saskatchewan for at least six months under a closed work permit or under the International Experience Canada (IEC) can apply for nomination by the SINP.

b)      Health Profession Sub-Category [2]

Under this sub-category, internationally-trained health professionals, who have been working in Saskatchewan for at least six months under a temporary work permit, can apply for nomination by the SINP.  It is divided into three streams:

  • Physicians
  • Nurses
  • Other Health Professions

c)      Hospitality Sector Pilot Project Sub-Category [3]

Under this sub-category, foreign workers who are currently working in Saskatchewan in one of the following occupations can apply for nomination by the SINP:

  • Food/Beverage Server
  • Food Counter Attendant/Kitchen Helper
  • Housekeeping/Cleaning Staff

d)      Long Haul Truck Driver Sub-Category [4]

Under this sub-category, foreign workers that are currently working for Saskatchewan trucking firms can apply for nomination by the SINP.

e)      Student Sub-Category [5]

Under this sub-category, students who have graduated from a recognized, post-secondary educational institution in Canada can apply for nomination by the SINP.
