It was 22 years ago when I arrived in Canada and chose Calgary, Alberta to be my home. Leaving my family and friends behind, it was a new adventure for me to be in a new country without knowing anyone. That was the time I looked for a Filipino community paper and never found any, [...]

True enough the music of the 70’s and 80’s will never die, they might have faded but they will always be music in our hearts and minds. It was indeed an evening of beautiful songs and excellent performers from the front acts Laurie and Leah Callao, Dhon del Rosario, Chie Vengiza and Myles Lucina. Our local artists are indeed very talented to open up for an excellent show. A big thanks to them for all the support they have given to RETROSPECT REUNION TOUR 2016 LIVE IN CALGARY.
And the show won’t be complete without our sponsors namely The Clarion Hotel who gave the artists’ accomodation for free; MDL Immigration Services, Alex Tumang of Remax Realty, Alex Cabael of Noypi Meats, Atty. Ferdie Aguirre of Pilipino Legal Services, Chef Ricky Asuncion of MAMA NITA’S BINALOT for a sumptuous lunch for the artists, Rancel Mancilla of F8Photobooth for a wonderful souvenir pictures with RETROSPECT, Lucky Magpayo of TV Pilipino, Teofy Buluran of CJSW Radyo Pilipino, Mama Vi of Barrio Fiesta for the food provided at the venue, DJ Obi of PINOY TIMES ON AIR 94.7 FM and Pinoy Times, the most read community paper of Alberta. Thank you once again for supporting another show presented to the Filipino community by PINOY TIMES ENTERTAINMENT.
The night won’t be complete without the main act and the most awaited moment came with J.Martin Castro, Goldie and Ogie Ramos, the members of RETROSPECT. With each member now on their different paths, they decided to do a reunion tour on their 19th year anniversary as Retrospect. RETROSPECT was an ALIW AWARDEE back in the Philippines during the height of their career in the 90’s. It was such an excellent performance that neither I myself, did not see them when I was back home in Manila back in the 90’s.They had a blast on the stage with their music from the 70, 80’s and OPM. The showmanship of the group was fantastic. They are full of energy and their choreography was excellent. Even the audience dance on their feet with each performance. All I can say is they gave your money’s worth for a world class performance that evening. We hope that we can have another repeat of this performance or even much better again in Calgary in the near future.
We would also like to volunteers for the evening especially to the Nene Jules Casuncad and Teofy Buluran and the rest of the crew. Special thanks goes to the emcee for the night, none other than Ms. Sherry Anne Fulgencio.
Until next event, thank you once again from JARO PRODUCTIONS USA INTL. and PINOY TIMES ENTERTAINMENT.
