Calgary’s Filipino Community can boast of yet another Champion in a sport relatively unknown back home. Less than 2 years after learning the skills of horseshoe pitching, well known Filipino-Canadian Emvie Antonio claimed top honors at a recent tournament. Besting competition from Canada and the United States, he took the Championship in the “B” Division at the Calgary Horseshoe Club’s tournament on February 21, 2016.
Emvie will go on to compete in the World Series at the World Horseshoe Pitching Championship in Montgomery, Alabama this coming July.
Congratulations Emvie on your recent victory and best of luck representing the Calgary Filipino Community at the World Series. You’ve made us proud!
