After 20 years of living in Calgary, Alberta, we finally have a Philippine Consulate in Alberta. I made an appointment for a courtesy call to Consul General Julius Torres thru his secretary Sheila Tarrosa. Despite his busy schedule, we were given the time on April 29, 2016 at 10 am to meet Consul General Torres.
Prior to his position here in Alberta Consul General Julius Torres has 35 years in foreign service experience starting in 1981. He was the DFA Ambassaro for Middle East and African Affairs, but has previously served several leadership roles in Philippine posts in Jordan, Hawaii, Romania, Brussels, Belgium, Palau, Saipan, Toronto and Australia.
Their office is located at Philippine Consulate General Calgary Suite 920, 517 10th Ave. SW Calgary, AB T2R 0A8 with telephone nos.. ( 403) 4559343;4559346;4559457;4559483 and (587) 577-1524 and you can email them at [email protected]
For now this is a temporary office and the one that will be officially opening to do the passport renewals, NBI clearance, SPAs, any type of affidavits or any consular matters will just be the adjacent room so the location will remain the same. As of now they are waiting for the forms and machines so probably expect it to be fully operational by May 2016.
