Rain, rain and rain, this was the scenario of just recently ended Calgary Stampede. Overall it was a wet stampede season according to the organizers.

As the province were experience an economic challenges a lot of Calgarians save up and skip this year’s greatest outdoor show on Earth. Even the event organizers had forecast that it will be low in attendance however they didn’t anticipate the rainy days will add up to it.

An about 1,088,00 stampede goers were seen on the 2 weeks Calgary Event, it is the lowest for the past 20 years according to the Stampede Spokesperson Jennifer Booth, the 5 year average comes to 1,230,00. Because of the consistent rain during the week the official decided to cut down the entrance fee from $18 to $5 on Thursday and Friday. It was on Sunday, the last day of the stampede that the official had decided to make the morning admission to give it away for free, according to the report they had an estimated 151,000 in attendance.

Jenny Santillan an avid fan of the Calgary’s prime event said that she just came on Sunday on the last day since the admission was free. According to her, this year’s stampede seems not so jam packed as she observes there were booths that were empty. She hopes that the next year’s event would have more sunny days than the rainy days.
