Teresa Puri and Isaac Cruz   Wins  Pinoy New Talent Singing Idol 2013

Calgary’s search for Pinoy New Talent Singing Idol 2013 produced two of the   finest  young  new talents as it concluded its talent search contest  last January 18, 2014 at the Pacific Place Mall Northeast   Calgary. Teresa Puri   who just recently won the   UMAC   Singing Star search 2013 is on a winning streak as she emerged  victorious  again this time to earn   the right to represent Calgary at the Pinoy New Talent (PNT) Singing Idol Canada wide search grand championship  to be held on May 2, 2014  in Vancouver BC.

Earning the same ticket to the PNT grand finals   is junior category champion Isaac Cruz who bested four equally talented contestants with   his   distinctive voice and impressive   performance that   also bagged him   the   people’s choice award of the night.

It was an amazing   display   of pure and raw talent as five   monthly winners both in the junior and open categories battled it out for the most coveted title of being the first PNT Calgary  champion. Each of the contestants  wanted a shot at  the PNT  grand championship contest   and a chance to win the   most  tempting    lucrative prize package that includes a round trip ticket for two to the Philippines plus  fifty thousand pesos each  pocket money,  an exclusive contract with Viva records,  guesting on TV 5’s talent show Talentadong Pinoy  and to top it all a condominium unit at the Arezo Place in Pasig worth 1.5 million pesos.

PNT Calgary’s   Executive Producer   Reth “Juan Manila” Barnachea   ably hosted the program  and  gamely engaged  the audience in scoring and rooting for the best  song performances of the night. Competing in the Junior Category were Sophia Narciso,   Natalie Acido, Julienne Salon and  Isaac Cruz  while Teresa Puri, Don del Rosario, Sharlene Gatus, Laurice Bermillo and  Peoples Choice award winner Jimmy Buena were trying to outshine each other in the open category.

There was a process of elimination wherein the contest was  trimmed down to the best three   performances   narrowing the choice  to  Teresa Puri, Don Del Rosario and Jimmy Buena. In the end it was Teresa’s  rendition of a Whitney Houston classic that  got the judges  nod and scorecards. Isaac was a runaway winner for both the judges and  crowd.

Congratulations to both Teresa and Isaac, the entire Filipino community in  Calgary wishes you good luck and  may you bring home the bacon  in your PNT journey.
