Ottawa – Devinder Shory, Member of Parliament for Calgary Northeast has been recognized by Universities Canada for his role in supporting Universities Canada in advancing higher education, research, and innovation for the benefit of all Canadians.

“I have always been a strong believer in the importance of education to further the success of individuals and our country, as I believe it is the best way to improve one’s future.” said MP Shory.

“To be recognized by Universities Canada for supporting higher education in Canada is a great honour. Through my time on the Human Resources and Skills Development Committee, the International Trade Committee and the Citizenship and Immigration Committee I have championed our Conservative Government’s focus to support learning and training opportunities for Canadians. I have also promoted Canada as a world class education destination for foreign students, of which our government has admitted a record number in the past four years. “

“It has been an honour and a privilege to help strengthen our post-secondary institutions over the past years, and I look forward to continuing to do so,” concluded MP Shory.
