Hello dear readers, It has been a roller coaster ride with the weather with the mix of rain and sunshine lately.  When it rains, the advantage is we do not have to water the garden and the disadvantage is we cannot enjoy the outdoors.  On the other hand, when we have sunshine all day, we can [...]

Publisher’s Note

Hello dear readers,

It’s June and half of the year is almost gone. But we still have rain at times and it’s good for the grass and all the plants in our garden.  Although lately, it’s been getting to more sunny now, I’m sure that everyone is enjoying the outdoors.

June is a very important month for all Filipinos in Canada as it has been declared last year and the Filipino Heritage Month not just by the province of Alberta but also the Federal government of Canada.  This is the month to commemorate the Filipino culture and tradition of our ancestry.  If you will notice if you are watching the Filipino channels, there are different celebrations happening all over the different provinces. Not to forget that this is also the month we are celebrating our 121st Philippine Independence Day.   Here in Calgary, there was flag raising on June 12 at the Calgary City Hall  organized by CAPPA.  In Edmonton, there’s all an event coming up on June 22-23 brought to us by the Philippine Arts Council and TFC  with  a guest performer on June 22, none other than Ms. Yeng Constantino.  So check out all the events on social media so you can join the celebration and feel the unity of the Filipinos.

Aside from all the different events, families and friends can also start planning their camping trips.  I took my family camping one weekend but it was raining on the Saturday so we end up staying the trailer most of the day.  But the next day, it was sunny and the kids enjoyed playing and had fun with our golden retriever, Roxy.  It is something that our children should enjoy during the summer, whether you have a trailer or you’d rather build your tent, camping is the #1 activity during the summer time.

I would like to thank everyone who has supported PINOY TIMES under Ms. Connie Kriaski and hopefully you will still continue to support us with myself, Roberto Ugaddan as publisher.  Ms. Kriaski will continue to be part of Pinoy Media Canada Ltd. as our marketing representative.

Until next issue, LIFE IS READING PINOY TIMES!
