Alberta highlights innovation and responsible development at world’s largest oil and gas show

Edmonton… Alberta House will be a hub of activity and the site of international business development at the 2012 Global Petroleum Show in Calgary June 12-14. The Government of Alberta will provide private meeting spaces for Alberta companies and international delegates as part of the province’s 2,400 sq. ft. exhibit at the most prestigious oil and gas show in the world.

“The Global Petroleum Show is the perfect forum to showcase Alberta’s leading oil and gas industry,” said International and Intergovernmental Relations Minister Cal Dallas. “Alberta House will highlight Alberta’s oil and gas innovations and first-class environmental monitoring and regulatory system to the world.”

Since 1968, the Global Petroleum Show has brought together the oil and gas industry’s top energy leaders. This year, the show is expected to attract more than 60,000 attendees from 95 countries and more than 2,000 exhibitors. Delegations from Algeria, China, Colombia, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Kuwait, Libya, Mexico, Nigeria, Norway, Oman, Peru, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and the U.S. will be in attendance.

New to the 2012 show is the International Energy Marketplace. Alberta House joins other governing bodies, regional economic development authorities, regulatory agencies and industry associations in the marketplace to encourage business development. Alberta House will also offer an interactive public exhibition promoting Alberta’s innovation by showcasing state-of-the-art technology and industry developments to key players.

This year’s show also includes an array of events to connect buyers and suppliers and a number of international conferences and forums.
