As we start the New Year, we are very thankful to all the support we have received here on PINOY TIMES for 2012 and are looking forward for your continued support for 2013. We will try our very best to give our readers more informative news and articles both from here and from back home. To date we have circulated 265,000 copies of PINOY TIMES since August 2008.

PINOY TIMES has initiated the recognition of Filipinos in the community who has contributed their time and effort to be a role model in their own way. I would like to congratulate Mr. Ben Isidro, Mr. Carlos Perez, Miss Kristal Rubiano and UMAC Cargo Express for making it to our OUTSTANDING PINOY 2012. May you continue to be an icon to the Filipino community now and forever.

For the past months, the Filipinos have suffered from another typhoon in the south where over hundreds of people died. We have continued to help this cause and from our last Christmas party we have gathered $ 700.00 from our silent auction and 50/50 raffle draw. We will try to add more to this fund that will go to the benefit of the Typhoon Pable and Qinta victims. Please watch out for our fundraising event announcement and help us rebuild again the community of our typhoon victims. It is PINOY TIMES’ calling to be there when they need help and this is not possible if not for our fellow Filipino in the province of Alberta. We are grateful to partner with PINOY RADIO and some of our advertisers when it is for a good cause.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Chef Jun Causapin, who gave us a sample of his excellent culinary skills from our last PINOY TIMES Christmas party with his two main entrees that made it to our buffet dinner. I would also like to thank all the sponsors who made our event a huge success and thank you also to CHT Events and Rentals for dressing up the hall thru their excellent decors.

We hope that you will continue to read PINOY TIMES who is now on its 5th year and to support as well its sister publication, PINOYLIVING TODAY!

Until next issue, MABUHAY ANG PINOY TIMES!
