Destination Wedding Advantage

Location. If you’ve always dreamed of being a barefoot bride saying “I do” next to the lapping waves and a beautiful sunset, now’s your chance. A chance to throw a party that will have guests talking about your wedding for years to come, especially if it is taking place on some exotic beach location, or a romantic city like Paris.

Cost. A traditional wedding costs an average of $24,000, while you could fly to an all-inclusive resort, have your wedding ceremony, and enjoy a week-long honeymoon for a quarter of the cost.  Free weddings are also available when a minimum of rooms/or room types are booked for a specific period.

Resorts often offer special deals if you stay the rest of the week for your honeymoon. Hotels in popular destinations provide all-inclusive packages for every budget, which can make planning easier on you and your wallet. Your guests can take advantage of this special opportunity to enjoy a long vacation in the most deluxe suite, or they can choose a more cost-efficient package and shorten their stay.  Your destination wedding can be tailored to your guests’ needs and desires as well.

Guest List. A shorter guest list makes for a more intimate celebration, while decreasing the likelihood of unwanted guests showing up. A destination wedding allows you to spend your money and time on the people who matter most.

Although the wedding itself takes place on only one day, guests that attend destination weddings usually plan on spending a few days at the wedding destination either before or afterward. This is great for couples who want or have the opportunity to spend time with their guests because they won’t have to feel as rushed to express their gratitude to the guests that do attend.

At traditional weddings, it is almost impossible to greet 150 guests properly in the three or four hours that the reception is taking place. So, with destination weddings, guests do not have to feel slighted or feel bad for that matter for taking up a little of the bride and grooms time.

Less Stress. Assuming you’re not a control freak, the stress of planning will end up falling on the on-site wedding planner instead of you. Under your careful instruction, she’ll be taking care of most of the vendors while you relax at home. Wedding planners will help you tailor your special day to be seamless and memorable.

Weddingmoon. It’s a wedding and honeymoon all rolled into one, so after you’ve said good-bye to your last guest, your work is done. There’s nothing to pack and no airport to head to since you’ve already arrived!

Some couples may not be able to afford a honeymoon, but with destination weddings, they really don’t have to worry about being able to afford one or finding the time to take one because their wedding can serve as their “weddingmoon”. After the wedding, couples can get a honeymoon suite, and say goodbye to their guests, even if they plan on sticking around for a few more days. Then, they can take the time and enjoy each other and their destination, just as they would on a regular honeymoon.
